About Me

Hi, my name is Starr Burroughs. Yes…that is my real name. No…my sister’s name is not Moon. No…my parents were not hippies. Yes…I’ve heard every joke possible about my name…I dare you to come up with one I haven’t heard 😉

I love life. I love people. I love God. Along those lines…I absolutely adore my husband and our little girl. She is now a rambunctious three year old who is oh so easily entertained, yet requires that entertainment constantly. TV has become a friend and foe. And our four-month old baby boy has been filling our home with chaos and laughter. I’m especially enjoying his joyful baby laughs! I’m married to the most amazing man and enjoy being a mother more than I ever imagined I could. Here’s a picture of my beautiful family:

I’m an entrepreneur with big ambitions and goals – probably too many.
I’m an author who wants to offer all my opinions and thoughts to the world because I think they’ll make the world a better place.
I’m a friend that speaks the truth in love because what other kind of “true” friend is there?
I’m a pastor who wants to introduce people to the love and purpose that only God can offer.
I’m a woman who considers herself to be a feminist, but lives out her own definition of the word.
I am confident, courageous, driven, determined, truthful, faith-filled, and ambitious. I get one life, just like you, so I try to live it to the fullest.

A little more about me…

I’m a Washington native who appreciates the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, but not enough to move back. Seriously, the rainy, grey northwest is simply overrated (in my opinion at least). So our young family trekked on down to Southern California where the prices are high, but the weather is heavenly.

For the past few years I’ve been working on a book written to Christian single women called The Ineligible Bachelorette, and it’s finally finished! Writing it, editing it, and marketing it have been the biggest challenges I’ve ever taken on. It required time, discipline, and sacrifice to make this dream a reality (don’t all dreams require that??).

This blog is a spin-off from that book – I’ll be blogging my thoughts on the topic of Christian Singlehood. It’s geared toward women who are single and would like to be married. I realize there are a million books on this subject, but as generations adapt to a changing culture, so do these types of messages written to singles.

My message to this generation of single folk is to reevaluate their standards, narrow down their list of nonnegotiable’s, and become 100 percent certain their standards are given to them by God, not by society. Easier said than done.

You can buy my book anywhere! You’ll find it on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, Scribd, Nook, and more! Also, please subscribe to my blog and leave your comments and feedback! You can also follow me on Facebook and YouTube.

Thank you for joining me on this journey!

– Starr

Starr! I absolutely love that you are writing advice and wisdom for singles! It can be such a confusing season and one that is easily overlooked or rushed through. I will eagerly look forward to reading your book. I am so glad the Lord has given you so much joy in your role as a mother and given you such compatible work to do in this season as well!

    Cheers!
